I graduated from the University of Washington where I studied Human Centered Design & Engineering with a focus in Human Computer Interaction (HCI). I am currently an Interaction Designer at Google.
As an Ethiopian-American I interact with technology through a double conscious lens and it has sharpened my cultural competency and unique perspective on creative problem-solving. Design gives me a way to link my passion of empowering the lives of people like myself from resource-constrained communities by taking advantage of the technology around us. I am committed to amplifying the voices of those that are underrepresented throughout my designs while prioritizing accessibility.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge for design with the people around me and organizing events to engage the youth in STEM. I also enjoy collecting kicks (shoes), and exploring new types of music and street photography!
